  • Reading & Writing- Course Introduction

Whether in social life or workplace communication, the ability to tell a good story is becoming an increasingly valued soft skill.

Creative writing is a form of writing that uses imagination and unique talent to express the writer’s thoughts and emotions in a poetic way. The course begins with the appreciation of stories, novels, and poetry, developing students’ ability to analyze characters, plots, and meanings in stories. It trains and encourages students to use multidimensional imagination and proficient language expression to freely create their

    own wonderful stories.

The course introduces the meaning and importance of writing and guides students to explore the formats, writing methods, and conventions of different types of texts, helping them understand why to write, what to write, and how to write. Students learn English parts of speech and how to choose and use words correctly, including adjectives, adverbs, and verbs. They also learn different sentence structures and how to construct sentences correctly and effectively, including compound

    and complex sentences.

Students learn different elements of writing, such as plot and conflict, as well as different writing techniques, including rhetorical devices, rhyme, metaphor, symbolism, and irony, in order to produce paragraphs that are complete in content, clearly structured, and logical. Students also practice long-form story writing, applying the writing techniques they have learned to create well-organized, logical, substantial, concise, accurate, vivid, and engaging pieces, which are then shared,

appreciated, and discussed with the class.

Through reading aloud, students receive comprehensive instruction in pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, text analysis, and reading comprehension, while learning and

    appreciating writing techniques.

This expands their reading volume and range and further strengthens their English reading and writing abilities, helping them read with confidence and write with accuracy.

  • Public Speaking & Debate- Course Introduction

This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of English public speaking and debate through the study of different speech types, speaking techniques, speech analysis, and debate practice.

It develops students’ English expression, public speaking, communication, leadership, logical thinking, and persuasive communication skills, while integrating the fundamental skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students are encouraged to practice English speaking in different situations and improve their overall ability to use the language.

The Public Speaking component is divided into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels according to students’ age groups, allowing the course content and teaching methods to better match the characteristics of students at different stages. No one is born a natural public speaker. Effective speaking is a fundamental skill that can be developed through practice. The course helps students strengthen their logical thinking and fluent expression and use effective communication to move toward their personal goals.

The Debate component provides students with a platform to develop logical and coherent arguments. Through rhetorical techniques, students learn how to create engaging and persuasive presentations, build confidence and composure, and develop the ability to research, organize, and present information persuasively.

The course uses BP (British Parliamentary) and WSS (World School Style) debate formats. Its primary goal is to expand students’ knowledge structure, help them think critically about issues and communicate effectively, and teach them how to refine and express reasonable and coherent arguments.

Through debate practice, students gradually strengthen their confidence, independent thinking, analytical ability, language organization, and persuasive communication skills. Debate skills cannot be developed through last-minute preparation alone and require continuous learning and accumulation through regular practice.
