Hight School Courses
Our high school courses support students in Grades 9–12 across English, Mathematics, Science, and Business. Through English reading, writing and communication, mathematics and problem-solving, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, as well as business competition training and real-world business programs, students strengthen their academic foundations, critical thinking, analytical skills, practical skills, and understanding of key concepts while preparing for future university studies.
English Course - Introduce
Our English program is designed to help students improve their overall English proficiency, with a focus on essential skills including natural language expression, punctuation, vocabulary, grammar, writing, literature, and media. Through additional reading materials and classroom activities covering topics such as current events, history, social studies, and science, students develop stronger language comprehension and expression skills.
In addition to language development, the program focuses on reading skills such as summarizing, identifying main ideas, making inferences, and understanding an author’s purpose. Through writing practice, students develop critical thinking, analytical and logical thinking skills, while building greater confidence in expressing their ideas.
Grade 9–12 Course Progression:Students progress from foundational reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and oral presentation skills in Grade 9 to more advanced literary and media analysis, formal essay writing, thesis development, research and citation, critical analysis, and independent study in Grades 10–12. By Grade 12, students focus on advanced academic writing, literary criticism, synthesis, independent research, and preparation for university-level English.

Hight School Mathematics- Introduce
Our High School Mathematics program provides systematic academic support to help students strengthen their logical thinking and problem-solving skills. The curriculum closely follows the Ontario Curriculum and covers key mathematics concepts from Grades 9–12, including Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vectors, and Data Management.
Our teachers focus on explaining complex mathematical concepts in a clear and accessible way, while helping students develop effective problem-solving strategies and a deeper understanding of mathematical principles. Through small-group instruction and personalized support, students strengthen their foundations, improve academic performance, and prepare for future studies in science, business, engineering, and other university programs.
Grade 9–12 Course Progression: Students begin with foundational concepts in algebra, mathematical modelling, data, geometry, and financial mathematics in Grade 9. In Grades 10 and 11, they progress to quadratic and polynomial functions, trigonometry, analytic geometry, exponential and logarithmic functions, and mathematical modelling. Grade 12 offers advanced courses including Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vectors, and Mathematics of Data Management, preparing students for university-level mathematics and related fields.

Science - Introduce
Our High School Science program helps students truly understand science rather than simply memorize it. Covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, the program combines clear explanations with hands-on learning to help students develop a strong understanding of scientific concepts, critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry skills.
Grade 9–12 Course Progression: In Grades 9 and 10, students build a broad foundation across biology, chemistry, physics, and earth and space science, exploring topics such as ecosystems, cells, chemical reactions, electricity, optics, and climate change.
In Grades 11 and 12, students progress to specialized courses in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Topics include genetics, human systems, molecular biology, atomic structure and bonding, chemical equilibrium, organic chemistry, mechanics, energy, waves, electromagnetism, and modern physics.
Through experiments, scientific investigation, data analysis, and report writing, students strengthen both theoretical understanding and practical skills while preparing for university studies in science, engineering, medicine, life sciences, and other STEM-related fields.

Business -Introducing
Lorvale Academy’s Business Programs focus on two core areas: Business Competition Training and Business Enrichment Programs. Through competition preparation and real-world business experiences, students develop business knowledge, practical skills, and stronger preparation for university applications.
Business Competition TrainingStudents receive specialized preparation for major high school business competitions, including FBLC-CNLC and DECA. Training covers competition formats, case studies, economics and financial statement analysis, business law, marketing, business planning, presentations, role-play, and competition strategies.
Business Enrichment ProgramsStudents gain real-world business and industry experience through programs with leading companies and universities. These include the KPMG Healthcare Consulting Program, as well as visits and practical learning experiences with IBM, RBC, and York University’s Schulich School of Business. Students explore areas such as consulting, strategic analysis, finance, data analysis, machine learning, and business operations.
Designed for Grades 9–12 students interested in business, finance, economics, management, and entrepreneurship, the programs help strengthen business analysis, case-solving, presentation, and teamwork skills while providing competition results and practical experiences that can support future university applications.
